Manchester United plotting a raid on Bayer Lekerkusen star Leon Bailey as Jadon Sancho alternative
Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Bayern Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey as alternative for Jadon Sancho.
The Red devils have been dreaming to sign Sancho in the last two transfer windows but Dortmund’s valuation for the English International have hampered chances for Ole’s side to land the 20-year old.
According to reports last month, United had agreed a deal in principle for Sancho where they offered Alexis Sanchez to Dortmund in a bid to lower Sancho’s price but the Bundesliga outfits rejected the offer holding on to their £100million asking price.
And Dortmund’s attitude towards their price asset’s transfer means Manchester United have to consider alternatives for the Dortmund player- who appears their proirity target for this summer’s transfer window and Bayern Leverkusen Leon Bailey now appearing as latest transfer target.
According to the Dail Mail, Reds now see Bailey as the perfect alternative for Jadon Sancho and the more encouraging for Ole’s side is the idea that they can land the Jamaican International at a lower price than the former Manchester City man to salvage them from financial stress from coronavirus crisis.
Bailey has been slapped a £40million valuation by Leverkusen and could be allowed to leave if United have a breakthrough in negotiations.
Bailey completed a move to the German side in 2017 and has been instrumental in Leverkusen’s colours attracting interests from Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the January transfer window.
