Liverpool agree personal terms to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara

Liverpool have agreed personal terms and are in advanced stage of negotiations to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara this summer according to reports.

If the Premier League is the only standard to measure Liverpool’s squad strength, there wouldn’t be any cause of concern for Reds’ reinforcement for next season after beaten Leicester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City to the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years.

Klopp’s side finished the season 18 points clear off second place Man City to mark their quality in the domestic scene comparative to their Premier League rivals, and one of the best finish in Premier League era.

However, their early exit from Champions League knockout stage by Atletico Madrid has forced Liverpool to rethink about their squad in-depth, and are been forced to enter into this summer’s transfer window for reinforcements.

It’s understood that Klopp’s big concentration in his summer spending may center on strengthening the midfield where he became aware of the need to do so when in the Champions League 1/16, Koke, Saul Niguez and Thomas Partey outclassed Liverpool’s Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Oxlade-Chamberlain despite Liverpool dominating both legs in terms of possession.

Amid their midfielder reinforcement, Liverpool have kept close tabs on many players but Thiago Alcantara has eventually becomes Klopp’s top most priority ahead of the summer transfer window.

The former Barcelona ace has become a major talking point in almost all Bayern Munich’s big games both in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, where he has inspired the Bundesliga champions to not only beating their opponents but dominating the likes of Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Leverkusen, Chelsea and Barcelona.

Liverpool have already made Alcantara know of their interest and have drew Bayern Munich to the negotiation table over Alcantara’s transfer.

In what is a major boost for the Premier League outfits, agreement of personal terms with Thiago Alcantara has been reached as claimed by RMC sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi and Fabrizio Romano.

They have also revealed that talks between Liverpool and Bayern Munich are in advanced stage where the Bundesliga outfits are demanding £30million in exchange of Alcantara but Liverpool are not willing to offer that amount and would be happy to strike the deal lesser than that figure.

The 28-year old has accumulated 2427 minutes, 3 goals and 2 assists for Bayern this season and has reportedly told friends and even teammates he will leave the Bavariens at the end of their Champions League campaign amid joining Liverpool.

The report further claims that Alcantara has agreed to sign a 4-year contract at Anfield.
