Chelsea close to completing Ben Chilwell transfer after having a new breakthrough
According to the Times, Chelsea are closing to reaching agreement with Leicester City over Ben Chilwell’s transfer in what the English publication refer to as a ‘breakthrough to signing the Three Lion International’.
Chelsea are long term admirers of Chilwell, and are confident of landing the Leicester left-back in awake of the overhauling that is currently staging at Stamford Bridge.
A number of first team members are expected to make way for new comings including Chilwell though Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have already joined whiles Willian has moved to the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea are into negotiations with Leicester to agree a fee for Chilwell but the Foxes have been a major obstacle for Chelsea to complete a deal for the left-back this summer.
For all this while on the negotiation table, Leicester had been holding out for a fee to match the £80million that Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019, but Chelsea knee bringing that asking price down in a structured deal.
That was before today. Chelsea now have a breakthrough on the side of Leicester City- who could soften their stands on the transfer fee they want from sale of Chilwell.
Leicester City could ask Chelsea to pay a £60million cash-down fee plus add-ons- that could be paid later.
