Timo Werner’s move to Chelsea will be completed this week that is according to latest report in talkSPORT after Werner expected to sign a five-year deal worth £200,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard’s side have already agreed to meet his £53million release clause before the it expired last Tuesday. Few details have prevented announcement of the deal but Chelsea will complete the transfer this week.
Chelsea fans are waiting to hear the confirmation of their new signing- who is tipped to fight with Tammy Abraham for the number 9 spot at Stamford Bridge.
It’s understood the Werner has already told Leipzig that he wants to join Chelsea in July, following the conclusion of the Bundesliga season claimed by Bild.
His request would leave him out of Leipzig’s Champions League games however the Bundesliga side are holding the view that they want to keep Werner for their remaining Champions League matches- planned for in August.
Leipzig boss Nagelsmann said: “He is currently, as usual, in my plans to play the Champions League. He is our player and has not signed for anyone else.
“His importance to RB Leipzig is extraordinary. He has an incredibly good goalscoring rate, which you always hope for from a striker.”
