BARCELONA complete €60million plus 5million add-ons signing of Miralem Pjanic from Juventus

FC Barcelona have completed the signing of Juventus star Mirelam Pjanic ahead of the summer transfer window.

The former Juventus midfielder was linked with Barcelona at the beginning of last season but Juve held onto their star helping the Bianconeri to lift the Seria A title in 2018-2019 season.

Barca’s interest in Pjanic grew after their UEFA Champions League painful exit in semifinals by Liverpool last season and opened a new quest to sign the 30-year old at the beginning of this term.

The Laliga giants failed in a bid to sign Pjanic in the January transfer window but Quique Setién side will finally see the Bosnian International in their colours for their next campaign.

Barcelona confirm the €60million plus 5million deal few days after reaching agreement with Juve and Pjanic passed his medicals back in Italy- when Barcelona doctors traveled with Arthur Melo for his medicals in Turin on Sunday.

“FC Barcelona and Juventus have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Miralem Pjanić. The cost of the operation will be 60 million euros plus 5m in variables.”

“The player will sign a contract with the club for the next four seasons, until the end of the 2023/24 season, with a buy out clause of 400 million euros. The player will remain with Juventus until the 2019/20 season is over.”

Pjanic will be Barca’s first signing for the 2020/2021 season but will complete the Seria A season with Juve before joining his new team-mates in reportedly August.

Pjanic has played in every midfield position, whether that be as an attacking midfielder at Metz or in a slightly deeper role at Olympique Lyonnais and Roma.

His ability to join attacks whilst coming from deep as well as his excellent free kick taking abilities have seen him score his fair share of goals.

Furthermore, his technical quality, vision of the game and commitment make him one of the best midfielders in football today.

Meanwhile, Barcelona announced that Brazil international Arthur Melo will join Juventus at the end of the season in a €72million deal where the Brazilian International will sign five contract in Turin.

The deal has been rumored for some time now but has finally been completed. The 23-year-old will finish the season with Barca and then complete his move to the Serie A champions.
