Zamalek reportedly leading Esperance de Tunis in race for Ghaylan Al-Shalali

Zamalek are reportedly leading Esperance in race for Ghaylan Al-Shalali according to latest reports from Egypt. Al-Shalali has become a free agent after terminating his contract with Turkish Malatya, and could complete a move to either Zamalek or Esperance de Tunis this summer.

Both Norther African sides knee on bolstering their squad for next season and they have identified the Tunisian ace as important man in whatever quest they would take to achieve that.

Esperance have been linked with a move for top talents ahead of the summer transfer window- including Zamalek front man Achraf Bencharki and DR Congo host prospect Jackson Muleka- who has been exceptional for TP Mazembe this term.

The CAF Champions League defending champions could cash in on Ghanaian International Kwame Bonsu at the end of this season and ready to replace the former Asante Kotoko midfielder with Al-Shalali- who understands the way of Esperance very well.

Though Esperance have begun talks with the midfielder over a deal in summer but they need to work extra hard before they can land their target.

That’s because Egyptian giants Zamalek have also opened negotiations with the player and are believed to now leading Eperance for Al-Shalali’s services- revealed by the player himself.

“I received many offer from Zamalek, where contacts were already made by Egyptian team officials about joining the team,” he told Tunisian newspaper Al-Shorouk.

“Playing for Zamalek is a great honor, especially after the great success achieved by Ferjani Sassi and the great popularity that he enjoyed among the white fans.”

Zamalek have improved under Patrice Carteron but are desperate to add more quality players to their ranks in order to close the gap on theTP Mazemebe, Al Ahly and Esperance in the CAF Champions League.

They are also close to completing a deal for CS Sfaxien right-back Hamza Mathlouthi and still eyeing few more players this summer.
