Chelsea talks with FC Porto winger Jesus Corona confirmed player’s agent

Chelsea may have their heart set on signing a player from FC Porto this summer after targeting left-back Alex Telles as replacement for likely-to-depart Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri and now the Blues have targeted to capture Jesus Corona when the transfer window opens.

In Alex Telles transfer, the West Londons could be beaten to the signing of the Brazilian defender by Paris Saint-Germain after Le10 Sports revealing earlier this month that the Ligue 1 outfits have agreed to sign Telles from Porto this summer.

Frank Lampard’s side appear to have a warm interest in signing Corona for this term before they are beaten again by clubs next summer or even in the coming window.

Chelsea are believed to be favorites to land the Mexican’s winger and have already held talks with the player ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge- revealed by Corona’s agent.

“At some point we talked to them [Chelsea]. I cannot say if he’s option A, B or C, now they are rather rumours”, agent told Medio Tiempo.

“We’ll have to wait a bit for this to continue moving forward and for the leagues to begin again, and from there see what the next movements will be because the market is a little bit stopped.

“He has two years left on his contract.

“He did awaken a lot of interest for his participation in this particular tournament [Primeira Liga], which has been outstanding and at a high level, but now with the current situation of the virus everything has slowed down a bit. The signings are in quarantine.”

Like said by his agent, Jesus Corona has been outstanding for Porto this season having joined the Portuguese side from FC Twente back in 2015.

The versatile 27-year old midfielder has assisted 17 times for Porto alone in the suspended campaign and given his exploit in wide areas, Chelsea now see him as replacement for Willian and Pedro- who are likely to leave Stamford Bridge after this term.
