Arsenal boosted in Houssem Aouar transfer after Lyon agreement with AC Milan for Lucas Paqueta

Arsenal have received a boost in pursuit of Lyon star Houssem Aouar after the Ligue 1 outfit reaching agreement with AC Milan for Lucas Paqueta.

Undoubtedly, Arsenal need central midfielders to close the gap on Liverpool and they have been in the transfer market for at least one star before this summer’s window closes.

For months now, the Premier League side have been linked with Thomas Partey, Thiago Alcantara and Philippe Coutinho but it looks certain that Arsenal have missed out on Alcantara and Coutinho who both for the Spaniard has joined Liverpool in a £20 million deal and Brazilian has returned to Barcelona from his Bayern Munich loan spell.

On Partey, Arsenal once opened negotiations to bring the Ghanaian International to the Emirates Stadium but it’s understood that the Gunners have finally conceded defeat in Partey’s deal.

And that leaves Arsenal to now shift attention to signing AS Roma ace Amadou Diawara and French International Houssem Aouar.

According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have given Arsenal a stiffer competition for Diawara’s signature and Arteta’s side have accepted that they may be beaten to signing of the Guinean International by London rivals.

Aouar remains the player Arteta very confident of signing this summer and has already seen £21million bid for the 22-year old midfielder rejected by Lyon.

However, Arsenal could still have a deal for Aouar completed this summer that’s according to L’Equipe who claim Lyon have reached a deal with AC Milan and personal terms with Paqueta.

The French outlet has revealed that Lyon’s bid to sign the Milan man would work in Arsenal’s favor where Paqueta will come to Groupama Stadium as a replacement for Aouar.

According to latest reports in France, Lyon is demanding £55million for Aoaur and the French side will force Arsenal to to improve their initial offer of £21million which Arteta’s side could be expected to up their game.

The former Premier League champions already have Aouar’s willingness to join them this summer after given a green light on the move.
