Ghana Premier League champions Medeama reportedly capture Tamale City midfielder Godknows Dzakpasu ahead of Africa

Reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama have reportedly completed their first summer signing after putting a deal in place for Tamale City midfielder Godknows Dzakpasu.

After winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2022-2023 season off Asante Kotoko, Medeama’s next challenge will be to go and make significant impact in the CAF Champions League.

Ghanaian clubs have struggled in the competition in recent times with Asante Kotoko falling to the likes of RC Kadiogo last season and Hearts of Oak to former champions Wydad Casablanca in their last campaign.

There has been a strong concern for Medeama’s success in the African Champions League this term and have been advised to sign quality players before the play their first game.

After just 11 days of ending of the season, Medeama have begun transfer business landing one of Ghana Premier League’s prospects Godknows Dzakpasu.

Medeama thrashed Tamale City 3-0 in final day of the season to become champions of the Ghana Premier League first time in their history.

Godknows Dzakpasu was instrumental throughout Tamale City’s season and proved his quality against the champions in the final day game in Tarkwah.

Futball Surgery Sports understand Medeama have agreed a deal in principle to sign the Tamale City midfielder as announcement should come in next few days.

Tamale City have been relegated despite Dzakpasu’s impressive displays in middle of the pitch.

The 26-year old made 28 appearances for Tamale City in the just-ended season and scored 2 goals in the process.

Meadeam will be hoping to emulate the record in the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup after reaching the group stage but failed to qualify at the expense of eventual winners TP Mazembe and Algerian side OM Bejaia.

Medeama finished third in Group A as Young Africans placed last of the group.
