WAFA boss Prosper Nartey Ogum warns Asante Kotoko ahead of GPL game at Sogakope, insists his men have learnt from poor home results against Hearts and Liberty

West African Football Academy head coach Prosper Nartey has insisted his charges are ready for their midweek clash against Ghana Premier League record holders Asante Kotoko.

The Sogakope based club have lost just a game in the season and surprisingly it came at their favorite home ground against Liberty Professional.

WAFA returned to winning ways last Sunday following their victory over Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Academy boys are winless in their last two home games losing to Liberty Professionals and drawing against Hearts of Oak.

Meanwhile, WAFA have another huge mountain to climb at home when they welcome Asante Kotoko to Sogakope on Wednesday.

But Nartey who was appointed the head coach of WAFA at the beginning of the season believes his side are ready to face Asante Kotoko.

‘The fact that Hearts of Oak and Liberty Professionals took point and points respectively here at Red bull Arena doesn’t mean we are poor at home.

‘We didn’t utilize our chances in those two games but I can assure you our boys are ready for Asante Kotoko.” Nartey told Ashh Fm Sports.

‘Psychologically my boys are okay and have determined to bring back to glory days back to Sogakpokpe.

‘It’s unfortunate we’ve dropped five points in our last 3 games but I can tell you we are back on track.

‘I expect all football loving fans troops to Sogakope tomorrow and I can assure them of beautiful football tomorrow. Asante Kotoko is a big club, we accord them with that respect but for the 3 points, it’s for us” he concluded.

Kotoko are poor away travelers-away from Ghana capital where they have never picked a point away from the Accra Sports Stadium.

All away points they have collected this season was inside the Accra Sports Stadium beating both Legon Cities FC and Hearts of Oak.

And the Porcupines will be hoping to take their first away point outside the capital of Ghana.
