Kotoku Royals beat King Faisal 4-2 to boost GPL survival hopes
Kotoku Royals have boosted their chances of escaping relegation from the Ghana Premier League this season following a massive 4-2 win against King Faisal on Friday afternoon.
The team from Akyem today hosted the side from Kumsi in a Week 23 encounter of the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight league season.
Both teams went into the game today in the relegation zone and in need of the maximum three points.
In a thrilling contest that ensued between Kotoku Royals and King Faisal, six goals were witnessed.
First, Francis Andy Kumi equalised in the 12th minute to hand the home team a deserved lead.
Courtesy of additional goals from Augustine Boakye and Richard Dzikoe, Kotoku Royals had a huge 3-0 lead at halftime.
While King Faisal will come in strong after recess, the team succumbed to a 4-2 defeat at full-time.
The visitors netted the consolation goals through Godfred Asiamah and Abdul Latif.
Despite the win, Kotoku Royals remain bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings.
