SONGNE YACOUBA is reportedly demanding a yearly salary of US$150,000 before he commits future to Kotoko

Burkina forward Songne Yacouba who currently plays for Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko will see his contract expire February 2020, and like no club would want to lose its prize asset so cheaply, the Kumasi based side have for some time now attempt to book a contract renewal with their star but have failed as much as they have tried.

Very recently, there were reports linking the Burkina International to ZESCO United, Nkana FC and Sudan outfits Al Hilal.

And Asante Kotoko reacted smartly to those rumours by offering Songne Yacouba an improved offer that will see him earn approximately GHC 50,000-a-year if he renews, but the player’s representative rejected that offer.

In a meeting, Yacouba’s representatives opted that Kotoko should offer their client US$150,000 equivalent to (8.5 billion old cedis a year) instead of the club’s initial GHC 50,000-a-year (500 million old cedis) before he commits his future.

The last meeting was excluded from Kotoko Executive Chairman Kwame Kyei but the big boss together with club’s management will hold a final meeting with Yacouba’s reps next week for further discussions.

If Kotoko fail in securing a new deal with the Burkina import, they are likely to bring in Karela United forward Diawiese Taylor as Yacouba’s replacement.
