Boss Kim Grant believes Asante Kotoko first goal against Hearts in the Presidential Cup was an offside

After few days of signing contract with Hearts of Oak, Kim Grant promised his fans of making things difficult for Asante Kotoko whenever Hearts meet Kotoko but the Hearts boss has failed to pick even a draw against a side that he promised of beating anytime.

His first defeat was a close contest against the Porcupine Warriors, coming from a goal down to send the game to penalty shootout in the NC Competition Tier One semifinals.

Grant’s second loss against Asante Kotoko was a horrifying manner in the 2019 Presidential Cup final today Sunday after his opponents came from a goal down to emerge as the champions of the President Cup in 2019.

Despite taking the lead, Grant’s side were completely out classed by Asante Kotoko in the second half. Grants is not worried about his club’s poor performance against his bitterest rivals.

He is worried about Kotoko’s equalizer after forward Kofi Kodzi has put Grant’s men ahead on the 36’ minute mark.

Kotoko’s leveler came when left back Patrick Yeboah attacked from the left and released a left-footed shot which Mohammed Alhassan hastily connected the ball into the net in an attempt to clear the lines.

The Hearts boss in his post-match conference told reporters that Kotoko’s first goal was an offside.

“So for me, I was quite pleased with the way we played, but we can still improve on certain matters of the game but I believe the maybe the first goal was offside but that’s part and parcel of football”, Grant said in post-match interview.

Guinea striker Naby Kieta who completed a three year deal with Ghanaian champions Kotoko in October 2018 head home to snatch the title for second time in running for the Kumasi based club.

Hearts last three visits to the Baba Yara Sports Stadiums against Kotoko have all ended in a defeat, conceding 6 goals against their one goal scored.
