PSG reportedly submit €5million bid to sign Andre Ayew from Swansea City as Mbappe replacement

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly open a quest to replace injured Kylian Mbappe after submitting a €5million bid to sign Andre Ayew from Swansea City ahead of the summer transfer window.

The French Ligue 1 giants have been slow in this summer’s transfer window despite been linked with a couple of players in few months.

Their attacking lines that already comprise of Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani and Julian Draxler have been bolstered by the signing of Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan after activating their €50million transfer option to turn the Argentine’s initial loan deal into a permanent one in May.

The potency of their attack will in fact, undoubtedly be compromised following Mbappe’s injury in PSG’s victory over St Etienne in last week Friday’s French Cup final.

The 2018 World Cup winner is now ruled for three weeks, meaning he will not be available for PSG’s Champions League quarter finals game against Seria A outfits Atalanta in August.

And Mbappe’s latest injury has tempted the French side to find replacement in the transfer market as soon as possible where Ghanaian International Andre Ayew has been targeted as the ideal candidate according to reports in France.

It is believed that PSG have already begun the journey to bring Ayew to the Parc de Princes this summer and even for their Champions League game against Atalanta.

A report by Sqenf Foot claims PSG have submitted a €5million offer to take Ayew away from Championship side Swansea City- who were much stronger in the English second tier league this season but missed Premier League football for next term after falling behind Brentford 3-2 on aggregate in a Championship play-off.

Chelsea no. 10 Willian who is yet to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge, Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Baily, Zenit Saint Petersburg ace Malcom have all been targeted by PSG as well.

But it’s Andre Ayew who peaks the interest of the French champions, and PSG technical team led by Thomas Tuchel are believed to impressed by the Ghanaian’s output for Swansea City 2019/2020 season.

The 32-year old winger made a total of 18 goals and 7 assists in 47 matches across all competitions for the Swans.

Swansea City manager Steve Cooper has admitted that the Black Stars captain’s level is much beyond the expectations of Championship after scoring Swansea City’s lone goal against Brentford in the play-off first leg at.

His admission sounds like he fears the Ghanaian will leave the Liberty Stadium due to Swans inability to qualify for the Premier League.

“I think that’s a conversation me and Andre need to have,” Cooper told the media. “I would like nothing more than for Andre to be playing with us again next season,” he added.

“We have seen the real level of player he is this year, with the goals he has scored and the impact he has had on and off the pitch. It’s been brilliant to work with him.

“But I understand Andre is a better player than the Championship. That’s a matter of fact and I am sure he will have offers to do that.

“We need to have a good conversation over the next couple of days. We trust each other 100 per cent and in the end we will come to a resolution that’s right for everybody.”
