Jurgen Klopp unsure whether Takumi Minamino will start Liverpool’s FA Cup Third Round tie against Everton

Liverpool are in a form of their life, winning 19 of their 20 Premier League games so far, only held to a 1-1 draw by rivals Manchester United, and that remains the only game the World Champion have failed to pick all three points in the League.

The former Salzburg forward is eligible to play in the FA Cup tie on Sunday and will want to make the same impact Virgil van Dijk did on his Liverpool debut in an FA Cup match at home to Everton two years ago.

But the Reds boss Klopp is not sure whether Takumi Minamino will start the game against Everton in FA Cup 3rd Round this Sunday.

“I think it’s pretty much the same situation, I’m not 100 per cent sure”, Klopp told reporters during his press conference.

“Virg (Van Dijk) was injured before, he didn’t play for a while for Southampton.

“So, when he came in, I remember the morning session, I decided in the morning because it was not the actual plan; then, in the morning I just thought, ‘Why not? Come on, let’s give it a try.’ It was obviously a good decision that time.

“Takumi is here and had three sessions with the team now, that’s not so much. But it’s football still.”

Minamino played 1, 420 minutes, grabbed 7 goals and registered 8 assists at Salzburg in 20 appearances across all competitions this season before switching camp for Liverpool in a deal that worth £7.25 million.
