GFA set sight on making accountability transparent as annual financial statement to be published regularly

The Ghana Football Association ought to make transparency in accountability as the governing football body set sight on making publication of annual financial statement a regular practice.

The General Secretary of the FA Prosper Harrison Addo Esq. reveals the federation will publish its financial statement on the GFA website, and that will put a stop to the old practice of confidentiality on the federation’s financial status.

Several critics of the Ghana FA have questioned why there seems to be no openness or transparency as regards the financial dealings of the country’s football governing body.

“I can assure you that at the end of the accounting year, we will publish the accounts of the FA on the website for everyone to read” Prosper Harrison Addo told Accra-based Radio Station Angel 102.9 FM.

Many football supporters in Ghana have grown cool interest in local football and on the Senior National team as well partly due to the GFA inability to make accountability regarding it financial records transparent.

The GFA new administration led by Kurt ES Okraku has set a tone, “bring back the love” which suggest a lost love for Ghana football, and they are now working to restore the lost love.

It has appeared that open access to the financial statement of the GFA can partly do a good to this tone.
