Esperance CAF Champions League quarter finals second leg tie against Zamalek escape the effect of Coronavirus

Esperance de Tunis welcome Zamalek to the Stade Olympique de Redes for the second leg of Total CAF Champions League quarter finals second leg.

There have been much anticipated views that the game should be played behind closed doors due the effects of the Coronavirus epidemic. And according Tunisia’s Health Minister Abdelatif El-Maki , a coronavirus case have been recorded in the country which has strengthened views that the game needs to be played with the doors closed from supporters.

The infectious disease since its breakup in China has transcended to affect many activities including football in many parts of the World, having seen a couple of Seria A games cancelled and the EPL on the verge of facing decision for games to be played behind closed doors or reschedule games.

Packed and highly concentrated population is believed to be a favorable channel perpetuating the widespread of the COVID-19 disease, and with thousands of supporters willing to troop to the Stade Olympique de Radès this Friday, it could be unsafe for supports who come to the Stadium.

However, the Tunisian Football Federation has released a statement on Wednesday to confirm that game isn’t going to be affected by closing the doors from supporters. Which means fans would still be able to visit the Olympique de Radès to watch the game.

The disease entered Tunisia when a Tunisian citizen returned from Italy last week and was tested positive for the virus as the Health Minister said in a news conference.

Zamalek hold a 3-1 advantage from the first leg and Esperance would be looking forward to overturn the score line.
