Liverpool 5-2 Everton, more about the game

Liverpool bag in their bags the bragging rights of the Merseyside derby after seeing off their rivals Everton in impressive 5-2 win at Anfield on Wednesday evening. Divock Origi brace and a goal each from Xherdan Shaqiri and Sadio Mane sent Liverpool four goals up in the first half but Michael Keane and Richarlison both scored to canceled out two of Liverpool’s four goals before the end of the first half.

Divock Origi started it all, dribbling past Everton keeper Jordan Pickford to slot home an empty net on the 6’ minute.  Shaqiri later went through one-on-one on goal from Sadio Mane’s pass before firing into the net from a tight angle inside the box.

Michael Keane reduced Liverpool’s 2 goals lead to only one three minutes there after before Origi again on the 31’ minute and Mane on the 45’ minute put the game beyond Marco Silva’s men in a 4-1 fashion.

But Richarlison scored in stoppage time of the first half to send the game to 4-2 when we ‘had done three additional minutes.

Georginio Wijnaldum 90’ minute strike ensure Liverpool carry the day with emphatic 5-2 win in the Merseyside derby.

Liverpool still remain on top of the EPL table with 43 points, 8 more points above second place Leicester who also defeated Watford 2-0 at home. The pressure becomes intense on Marco Silva who faces Everton sack any time soon.
