Simba complete double over Vipers as Tanzania club climb to second place in Group C
Simba SC have completed a double victory over Vipers in the CAF Champions League following 1-0 win in Tanzania.
The Reds welcomed Vipers to the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium for match-day 4 of the Caf Champions League group stage.
Simba won 1-0 at home thanks to Clatous Chama first half stoppage time strike enough to complete the back-to-back victory.
Chama beat his marker in one-on-one situation before firing at the near posts to give Simba the needed victory.
Simba defeated Vipers 1-0 in the first leg in Uganda. Today’s victory place them in second position of Group C behind leaders Raja Casablanca who have 100% record so far.
Raja have qualified with two games remaining after beating Horoya Athletic Club in Guinea today Tuesday.
Raja have 12 points now and Simba have to get good results against the leaders and Horoya to qualify to the knockout phase of the CAF Champions League.
