Verdict on Chris Hughton undisclosed Black Stars contract emerges

Details about Chris Hughton Black Stars contract has emerged with GHALCA chairman simply calling for patience.

Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA) chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo has called for patience about the contract details of new Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton.

The former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur boss has been named as the new head coach of the senior national team.

Hughton replaced Otto Addo who left his role after the country’s early exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Despite the confirmation by the country’s football governing body, the details of Hughton’s contract was not confirmed by the FA.

But Fianoo has called for calm insisting the leadership of the FA in due time will announce the details of the former Brighton boss’ stay.

“I have a challenge with that decision but I am convinced the details of his contract will be announced soon,” he said Adom TV.

“Hughton is yet to be unveiled as the head coach of the team so I will plead that we wait on the Ghana Football Association for them to provide the details of his contract,” he added.

The 64 year old will be assisted by George Boateng and Didi Dramani.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton will take charge of his first game this month in back-to-back games against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers.

Hughton was the technical advisor when Ghana exited at the group stage of 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
