Hearts of Oak take home US$ 200,000 from new headline sponsors as club begin new era with emphatic victory

Hearts of Oak have announced the club will accrue US$ 200,000 from their headline sponsorship deal with Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited.

With that coming as huge financial boost, the Accra based side extended the good things happening in the club with emphatic victory over West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) last Sunday.

Thanks to Patrick Razak who opened the score on 35’ minutes after a tight game in the opening minutes. Razak eventually took home Man-Of-The-Match award.

Isaac Mensah doubled the lead before Raddy Ovouka and Michelle Sarpong found themselves on the score sheet against 10-men WAFA in Accra Sports Stadium.

The duration of the contract between the club and the thermal power station is for one year. After expiration of the contract, there is an option for extension or Hearts could be tempted to find new headline sponsorship.

Hearts of Oak were paid 50% of the total package (US$ 100,000) when the two parties signed the deal last Thursday, 4 March 2021.

The remainder of the cash will be paid in two installments. Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited has replaced Strategic Africa Securities (SAS) as headline sponsors.

After the first round, Hearts are in third place with 27 points four behind leaders Karela United.
