Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly name Ali Maaloul as club’s best player for the year 2019

Despite having been left out of Tunisia’s national team squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Maaloul has had an impressive season with Al Ahly at club level.

His 11 goals and 13 assists for the Reds guided them to their 41st Egyptian Premier League title. And even though the club’s unconvincing performance throughout the year saw them get knocked-out of the Egypt Cup and the CAF Champions League, the 30-year-old was quite consistent.

Up until now this season Maaloul made 10 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and providing four assists.

Helping Ahly win all of their 10 opening league games thus far and are now second in Group B of the CAF Champions League.

The former Sfaxien picked up where he left off last year as he provided an assist in his first two games in the league.

He will now hope to keep up his fine form when they visit FC Platinum on Saturday January 11th, which will help them put a foot in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
