Raja Casablanca hold Algerian side JS Kabylie to a goalless draw in Match Day 4 of CAF Champions League

JS Kabylie were looking for their first win in three games including today’s must-win game at home against Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in Match Day four of the CAF Champions League.

JSK needed to beat their opponents today if they wanted to qualify to the knockout stage of the Champions League whilst Raja Casablanca were hoping for their third straight win of the Champions League group stage having already won their last two games before today’s clash.

Despite dominating the first half, recording 69% ball possession against Raja’s 31% , JS Kabylie failed to open the score, and there was little from the Moroccans to register the first goal either as the first half ended goalless draw at Stade 1er Novembre 1954 on Friday evening.

Like some team would break the deadlock in the last 45 minutes, however, the same score line in the first half replicated itself in the second half despite both teams creating many chances.

Prior to the start of the second half, Abdelilah Madkour replaced Zakaria Habti who was silent in the first 45’ minutes for Raja.

JSK continued from where they left in the first half, pushing forward to open the score but Raja Casablanca weren’t so easy to break.

Despite the Moroccans subjected to adopt defensive approach early in the second half, they mostly outnumbered and fell strong in tackles than JSK, consistently creating problems for the Algerians whenever JSK launch attack through the middle of the pitch.

But later, JSK had found solutions deep the left side of attack, sending in decent crosses into the goal area but Raja defense were able to kept them under proper control.

None of the teams found back of the net, ending the game 0-0 after 90 minutes. Raja Casablanca who are second placed in Group D now have 7 points from four games whilst JSK have moved to 4 points after Match Day 4 the Champions League.
