Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara complete Asante Kotoko medicals ahead of undisclosed fee GPL transfers

It still remains unclear the amount Asante Kotoko are paying for the signatures of Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara but the Berekum Chelsea stars are edging closer to move to the former league champions.

Kotoko have been linked with the two players over a week now and the Porcupine Warriors have had a breakthrough in those deals.

Kotoko have announced the signings of Yahaya Dawuni, Nanabeyin Amoah and former Legon Cities man Andrews Ntim whiles deals with other reinforcements are still in the pipeline. Kotoko began talks with Berekum Chelsea over a double-deal approach for Ansu and Ouattara last week and discussions have yielded fruits.

Kotoko have already agreed personal terms with the two but a fee with Berekum Chelsea for the duo remains undisclosed. Kalo Ouattara and Henry Ansu have completed medicals at Kotoko on Thursday with the Chelsea players set to join their new teammates in preseason at Beposo.

The Reds began preseason in the Ashanti region on Tuesday with most first team players returning to training. Thursday entered day 3 of the preseason as foreigners Eric Serge Zeze, George Mfegue and Moise Pouaty expected to join camp today Friday.

Henry’s signing is to strengthen the back line while Kalo Ouattara offers in-depth quality in attack. Kotoko have one of the best forwards in the Ghana Premier League in Steven Mukwala striking a double-figure goal across all competitions last season but may need competition.

However, Ouattara and Mukwala can also play together in 2-front system an optional formation by new boss Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Ansu, center-back, could feature along with Yussif Mubarik with the new signing potentially seen as a replacement for Mohammed Alhassan who joined Kotoko in the second round of the league last season.
