Ghana have maintained its 52nd position in last FIFA world ranking while failing to make any changes to position in Africa.

The World football governing body released its ranking for month of November on Thursday as the West African country placed 52nd on the log.

The same position was occupied by Ghana for month of October. Black Stars played in total 4 games against Mali, double-header against Sudan and 2022 FIFA World Cup hosts Qatar in November and won two against Qatar in friendly and Sudan in Afcon qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Ghana saw defeat to Mali in Akonnor’s first game as Ghana boss before suffering a late loss in hands of Sudan in return leg of 2022 Afcon qualifier in Khartoum.

Despite two victories, no points were added to Ghana’s 1, 424 accumulated points. Ghana recorded same points for October in a bid placing the 4 times Afcon champions behind elites Senegal who are ranked first in Africa, followed by Tunisia, African champions Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana.

Belgium are ranked first in the world third time in a row, after winning six of their eight matches in 2020, and remained ahead of France and Brazil in the top three.

England also retained their spot in comparison to 2019, finishing 2020 in fourth position, with Portugal a new entry in the top five compared to last year.

Spain and Argentina follow in sixth and seventh place, respectively, having both climbed two spots in 2020.

Uruguay have regressed but remains in the top 10, sitting in eighth position, while Mexico and Italy again occupy ninth and 10th place.

Burundi made the biggest jump in the ranking in 2020, moving up 13 positions compared to 2019.

Senegal ends 2020 as the highest-ranked CAF nation, finishing in 20th position, while the Black Stars of Ghana concluded the year in 52nd position.
