CAF Champions League set to return September in existing semifinal games

The Africa inter club competition Premier Division returns from covid-19 suspension September where interesting semifinals fixtures are bound to take place.

This season’s semifinals is staged by two Egyptian and two Moroccan clubs in what highlights Egypt-Morocco affairs as Zamalek take on Raja Casablanca while Al Ahly face Wydad Athletic Club.

The African governing body lavished indefinite suspension on the competition back in May due to the coronavirus pandemic, and it has since taken the tournament out of sight for two months.

Many league and competitions around the world are returning and the CAF Champions League is boosted in returning after date for resumption revealed.

Zamalek, who have reap continental success in recent times- after winning the CAF Confederation Cup and Super Cup- will play away against Raja Casablanca on 4 September while compatriot Ahly face WAC in Casablanca on 5th September.

With the competition played in two-leg tie, all return legs in Cairo come off a week later and the final game of the Champions League is scheduled on 25th September.

In epi of the pandemic, there was a strong opposition to cancelled this season’s competition but Caf resisted against any such decision.
