TP Mazembe 0-0 CR Belouizdad: Ravens held at home in African Champions League group stages opener
TP Mazemebe have been held to a home goalless draw by CR Belouizdad in African Champions League.
The Dr Congo giants welcomed the Algerian Premier League outfit to the Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi for Caf Champions League group B opener.
However, the tie ended goalless draw after both teams failed to convert their chances. Mazemebe played some good football in early minutes of the game but the Algerians were tactically discipline making it difficult for the Dr Congo side breach their defense in the first half.
The best of first half chances fell to the way of CR Belouizdad but failed to covert them. At points the Algerian side chose to go over the cross bar than the net.
CR Belouizdad now lead the table with South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns sitting third as Mazembe are placed second. Sundowns will take on Al Hilal later.
