Black Stars boss C.K Akonnor happy on Raphael Dwamena’s return to training

The Black Stars striker suffered a heart problem last year October and was indefinitely ruled out from football.

In early this year, the Real Zaragoza striker completed a successful heart surgery. After spending almost Eight months in the recovery process, the Ghanaian International has make a huge step to full fitness.

Dwamena has been cleared fit, and is nearing full fitness. He was spotted in a light training during Zaragoza training session on Saturday as football in Spain knee returning from coronavirus suspension.

Akonnor omitted the Black Stars forward from his maiden call up when the player was in the recovery process.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars boss has sympathized with the player and expressed delight over the 24-year old’s return.

“I have been there before and it is not easy for a young player to go through what Raphael Dwamena went through, had a chat with him and I’m happy to see him back in training,” Akonnor posted on twitter.

Dwamena, 24, is currently on loan from Levante where his contract with the Laliga side expires at the end of 2022.

He was loaned out to Zaragoza beginning of this season and has scored two goals in 9 matches for the Laliga 2 outfits before his health conditions in October.

The 24-year old striker’s best club football came for Austria Lustenau, bagged in 18 league goals in 20 games for the Austrian side in 2016-17 season.

His mouthwatering performance in that season saw FC Zürich signed the Ghanaian striker the following season, and netted impressive 21 goals in 51 league appearances.

He has capped nine times for the senior national team of Ghana but has not featured for the Black Stars since 2017.
