REVEALED- Egyptian giants Al Ahly want to keep Championship loanee Ramadan Sobhi beyond loan period

Al Ahly want to keep Huddersfield Town loanee Ramadan Sobhi beyond loan period according to latest reports in Egypt.

The Egypt giants secured Sobhi’s signature on a loan deal at the beginning of 2019 which the deal expires at the end of this season.

With the Egypt U-23 national team captain impressing in his short period, the Cairo based side knee extending his stay whether in another loan deal or permanently is yet to be revealed.

Al Ahly’s intention was revealed by Sobhi’s agent Nader Shawky who said club chairman Mahmoud Elkhatib has expressed interest in keeping his client.

“We do not know the player’s future as everything is interrupted amid coronavirus pandemic. However, Al Ahly want to keep the player.”

The CAF Champions League record holders knee bolstering their squad for next season and have already planned their transfer activities for the next campaign despite transfer window currently not active.

They have been linked with TP Mazembe star Jackson Muleka and Gaston Sirino of Mamelodi Sundowns. The latest player to be associated with the Egyptian Premier League leaders is Arab Contractor attacking midfielder Taher Mohamed Taher.

According to media reports in Egypt, Ahly have already begun negotiations Contractors for Taher’s signature, and the rumour is confirmed by Sobhi’s agent.

“Al Ahly want to secure their attacking line in case of Sobhy’s departure but I think that the two players (Sobhi and Taher) can fit in the same squad as they share the Olympic national team’s attacking line.”

Egypt secured a place in Tokyo Olympic Games after winning the African U23 Cup of Nations. Sobhi who was inspirational in Pharaoh’s African title triumph is tipped to star his team in the Olympics with support from Mohamed Taher.
