Osman Bukari scores in Red Star Belgrade UEFA Champions League 1-3 loss at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Ghanaian International got the nod in Barak Bakhar ’s starting lineup playing on the right side of 2-men attack as Red Star Belgrade kicked started their Champions League campaign with a tough clash against the champions.

Bukari ensured the visitor broke the deadlock at Manchester in first half stoppage time to put the home fans on silence before the break.

After a strong start to the new season winning all five Premier League games, Man City were a one-sided favourites against Red Star Belgrade.

The Serbian side held the treble-winners for most part of the first half and finally took the lead through Bukari in what was a shocker at the Etihad Stadium.

But Belgrade’s surprise at the Etihad did not last longer with Julian Alvarez drawing parity for Man City two minutes into the second half.

City continued to enjoy long period of possession and took the lead in second half midway through Julian Alvarez.

Rodri added City’s third goal to put the game beyond Red Star Belgrade who sit third position after opening Group games.

The effort is Bukari’s first ever goal in the UEFA Champions League finals and coming against no side than the best team in Europe Man City.
