Etoile du Sahel hold Caf Confederation Cup advantage after goalless draw with Arab Contractors

Arab Contractors were held to a dull 0-0 draw in their CAF Confederation Cup’s first round clash against Tunisian giants Étoile Sportive du Sahel.

Arab Contractors have qualified for the first round of the 2021 CAF Confederation Cup after beating Arta/Solar7 of Djibouti 10-1 on aggregate in the Preliminary round.

They had a tough draw as they were set against Étoile du Sahel in the first round, with the first-leg to take place in Cairo.

Emad El-Nahas entered the game without four of his key players due to COVID-19, which negatively affected their performance on Tuesday.

The game was balance, but the Tunisian side had the most dangerous chances through Yassine Chikhaoui and Wajdi Kechrida.

On the other hand, the absence of VAR denied Arab Contractors an obvious penalty in the first-half, as the game ended 0-0.

The return-leg will take place on January 5 in Sousse, Tunisia, with the Egyptian club expected to have a tough chance to qualify for the playoff round.
