The former won the Ghana Premier League title with the Kumasi based side before departing the club for South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in 2013.

Having asked who Sumaila’s toughest player met in Ghana football during an interview with Bryt FM, the former Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs center back named Mahatma Otoo.

“I will name three strikers, Mahatma Otoo, Gilbert Fiamenyo and Nurudeen Ali formerly of Aduana Stars, but among the three, I think Otoo was deadlier than all.”

“In fact he gave me tough test in my playing days in Ghana” Sumaila added.

The center-back won the 2011 Ghana Best Defender Award before earning a maiden Black Stars call up in November 2011 where Ghana met Sierra Leone and Gabon.

In December 2011, Sumaila was named in Ghana’s provisional 25-man squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, but failed to make the final 23-man for the final tournament.

He made Black Stars’ final squad to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and has a total of 10 capes for the senior national team.
