Asante Kotoko Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei furious about player poor performance

 

The Chairman of Asante Kotoko Dr. Kwame Kyei has grew furious over player’s poor performance in Kotoko’s recent matches.

The Porcupine Warriors have simply not been convincing in the season and the last three games have been unexpected of Asante Kotoko given the materials at disposal.

After last beating Dreams FC in Dawu in Week 9 of the Ghana Premier League, the Warriors are winless in their three games across all competitions.

The most painful results is their shocking 2-1 loss to Asokwa Deprotivo in the MTN FA Cup 1/16, which means Kotoko have missed a potential slot to get back to African next season.

For the last three years, the FA Cup has been a route the Porcupine Warriors have utilized to enter into the CAF Confederation Cup, only that winning Normalization Committee’s special competition handed them Champions League football this season.

Their recent results have sparked high tension around the Kumasi based club and management held emergency meeting last Monday. In the meeting, club president Kwame Kyei was very furious about his players and technical team, and insisted that any player who cannot play for the Porcupine Warriors should take the exit door.

”If you know you can’t play for Kotoko again, tell me,” Dr. Kyei asked during the meeting.  Additional information has revealed that the club’s board chairman has told players that they will be sacked if they fail to perform.

Kotoko are now left with a huge task to qualify to Africa where they only need to win the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League.

They began the Champions League qualification chase with a tricky tie against Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium this Friday and that also marks the beginning of life away from the Baba Yara Stadium seeing its closure last week.
