WAFA New boss Prosper Nartey First Words, Highlighting Technical and Tactical Discipline of Players

Dr Prosper Nartey joined WAFA this week and was present at club’s training complex yesterday and today to watch how his side is preparing ahead of Ghana’s new football season. He took to the WAFA big cameras after training sessions to give his first words.

”My expectations are very high because I have had the opportunity to watch the team train yesterday [Tuesday] and then this morning [Wednesday], and the quality of the players is just amazing. I can’t describe it,” Ogum said in his first interview with WAFA as quoted in GhanaSoccerNet.

”I mean, they are technically good, tactically very disciplined. And if you look at the aggression, their confidence, you see that it’s up to a level that everywhere in the world when we go to soccer institutions or academies, you can compare to.

”The management and the coaches would have to be commended for a good job done.

”We can match every team in Ghana here so if we are able to work on the psychology of the players before training, and before competitions I think that will bring the difference between us and the rest.”

Nartey is the first local coach outside the academy’s establishment hired by the renowned soccer academy to handle their First Team.

His predecessors include Dutchman John Killa who guided WAFA to the Ghana Premier League in 2014 and left after two seasons.

Klavs Rasmussen replaced John Killa, who Rasmussen led the team to second place in the 2016/2017 before former ASEC Mimosas boss Patrick Liewig was appointed but later left WAFA when the 20172018 league ended abruptly because of Ghana football Bribery scandal.
