Raja Club Athletic beat TP Mazembe 2-0 in first leg of CAF Champions League quarter-finals

Raja Club Athletic leapfrogged TP Mazembe 2-0 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final at Mohamed the V Stadium in Casablanca.

The Ravens were stunned just six minutes into the game after former player Ben Malango applied a powerful header to Soufiane Rahimi’s corner, the ball hit the left posts before finally entering the net.

But as way of showing respect, Malango send his two hands in the air to show he doesn’t celebration against his former side Mazembe.

There was little TP Mazembe could do to draw on level as the home side poked the Ravens for the second goal when Badr Banoun guided another solid header to the right side of the net 11 minutes to full time.

Raja enter into the second leg with a 2-0 advantage when they travel to Lubumbashi a week later, where they need to stand tall against TP Mazembe in order to secure qualification to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
