Medeama Sporting club stall Justice Blay negotiations with Kotoko amid interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and Esperance de Tunis

Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club have reportedly stall talks with Asante Kotoko over Justice Blay’s permanent transfer to the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium.

Medeama loaned Blay to the Ghanaian giants beginning of this season, and the midfielder has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he fits very well for the Porcupine Warriors shirt, crowning the club’s player of the month January award first in the season.

But Kotoko are now sweating to sign the player permanently after the two clubs, Medeama and Kotoko, are unable to sort out their differences to reach permanent deal for Blay.

Kotoko drew Medeama back to the negotiation table last March to get a deal done for the midfielder, however, it is understood that Medeama have not responded to Kotoko’s letter in a bid to resume talks for the prize asset.

This may be due to the sudden appearance of coronavirus pandemic that has halted every relations and activities. It is now understood that the Yellow and Mauve club have told Kotoko to wait whilst the covid-19 pandemic still stand in between the clubs and talks about a deal for Blay.

Medeama Sporting Club communication chief Patrick Akoto has revealed that the Tarkwa-based side have not decided anything (about Blay’s transfer) but offered a line of hope for the Porcupine Warriors, saying ‘we’ll surely talk about the future of our prize asset’ (Justice Blay when the covid-19 crisis is over).

“We received a letter from Kotoko to that effect on March 30 and we have duly and respectfully acknowledged receipt,” Akoto told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“However, we have not decided anything due to the coronavirus outbreak. We are not even sure when the crisis will be over.

“We are in a survival era and so the last thing on anybody’s mind is contract talks with any club.

“If the world doesn’t come to an end, we’ll surely talk about the future of our prize asset.

“We respect Kotoko and other interested clubs a lot but we have to scale this hurdle. Lets continue to observe the protocols and stay safe.”

Justice Blay has been instrumental for Asante Kotoko so far, and by that, he has attracted interest in the domestic, continental and International landscapes.

Kotoko rivals Hearts of Oak are reportedly tracking Blay despite Phobia signing solution in Niger International Mamane Lawali to their defensive midfield problem.

Legon Cities are also believed to hold firm interest in the Kotoko man but will face a challenge of Blay’s unwillingness to join.

There are also a host of prospective suitors for the Ghanaian International, in South Africa and North Africa, where Maritzburg United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Tunisian side Esperance de Tunis- despite having issues with Kotoko– are reportedly interested in signing Justice Blay.
