Olympics boss Isaac Nii Armah: We want to finish in the top 4 of Ghana Premier League and dismisses Don Bortey signing

Accra Great Olympics head coach Isaac Nii Armah has disclosed his team’s target ahead of the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League. Armah believes his main target of the upcoming season is to send Olympics into the top 4 of the Ghana Premier League.

As it stands now, his side Great Olympics remain the busiest club in Ghana’s transfer window haven already acquired the services of former Esperance forward Emmanuel Clottey and two times Ghana Premier League winner Godfred Saka with  top star Bernard Don Bortey having trials with the Accra based side.

Armah’s side Olympics have also been linked with a move for former Asante Kotoko midfield duo Jordan Opoku and Michael Akuffo, and Armah would have experience players at his disposal should Olympics complete all these signings, which would boost his top four ambition.

In an interview with Kumasi based radio station Silva Sports- morning edition, Nii Armah was captured in saying, “My target is to finish in the top 4 of the Ghana Premier League. As a coach, I was trained by Didi Dramani and David Duncan. Didi Dramani was appointed Asante Kotoko coach from the Division One League and won the Premier title two times with Kotoko. So is possible for me to also finish in the top four this season.”

There have been bunch of reports confirming Olympics’ singing of former Hearts of Oak forward Bernard Don Bortey, but the Olympics boss dismissed any news of such nature.

“We have not signed Don Bortey, such reports are not true. He (Bortey) is only training with us. But I can confirm that we have signed Emmanuel Clottey and Godred Saka”.

Great Olympics have won a total of two Ghana Premier League titles in 1970 and1974 seasons, and also saw their strikers George Alhassan in 1977 and 1085 clinched League top scorer awards and Emmanuel Clottey in 2007.
