Zamalek boss Micho Sredojevic Press Conference ahead of TP Mazembe clash, Turf, weather and support base challenge

Zamalek boss Micho has highlighted the reason why his side landed in Dr. Congo all that early ahead of their group A opener in the Champions League against another African giants TP Mazembe.

The Serbian trainer in his press conference believes they had to arrive early in Dr Congo due to weather conditions, the nature of the artificial turf and TP Mazembe fans in order to help them acclimatize.

Micho has had unconvincing spell at Zamalek so far, and his latest defeat to last placed team ENPPI in the Egyptian League increased tensions to sack to Serbian from his post, but he had the support of club president throughout this week.

The Zamalek boss after highlighting some key challenges that would undoubtedly affect his side, he promised that he would come out from Dr Congo with a positive results. The Serbian coach, who is well familiar with the atmosphere of African competitions, also claimed that he knows TP Mazembe well.

“There are some obstacles that will face us like the artificial turf, the weather and the fans. That is why we arrived earlier to get used to the atmosphere,” Micho said in pre-match conference.

“We will battle for a positive result. It is an important game considering it’s our opener in the group stages, we know the opposition’s worth well and also their coach is a friend of mine.”

“I know Mazembe’s players’ abilities but Zamalek are the CAF Confederations Cup champions and everyone is ready for this encounter.”

A win or draw for Micho in Mzembe Stadium could somehow draw his supporters back to him.
