Asante Kotoko announce deal of highly rated midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh from Karela United

Asante Kotoko have officially confirmed the signing of highly-rated midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh ahead of the start of 2020/2021 season.

The announcement of Keyekeh’s transfer was made on club’s official twitter handle on Wednesday- the same day they started preparations for the season that is expected to start in November.

The confirmation ends months of speculation about the midfielder’s future after excelling in the cancelled 2019/20 season for Ghana Premier League side Karela United.

He made 11 appearances for Karela and was adjudged man of the match in three games.

The Ghanaian International has been linked with a move to Kotoko for the last two transfer windows but none of Kotoko approach to bring the defensive midfielder to Baba Yara materialized.

As Kotoko set sight on reinforcement for the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League, the defensive midfield is one area they have been alerted to strengthen.

Kotoko are working to get a permanent deal for Justice Blay, who mastered that position last season, sorted out while Richard Senanu has returned from his injury against Zesco United in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.

However, Keyekeh appears among the top talents expected to add more quality to Kotoko defensive midfield department next season.

The Ghanaian giants are tipped to announce few more additions in the upcoming weeks before the start of domestic and continental football with deals for former Sunderland forward Asamoah Gyan, Justice Blay and Yussif Mubarek from Ash Gold in the pipeline.
