Potter confirms double injury blow

Graham Potter has given the latest updates on injuries in the Chelsea squad with some good updates, but mostly bad ones.

“Thiago will be around six weeks,” Potter revealed. “Mendy making progress. N’Golo had his first full training session today but will need time.”

The Blues head coach also revealed two first-team stars are dealing with fresh injuries and confirmed at least one of those will miss out against Leeds today.

Boehly’s new transfer plan

Chelsea will face a number of crucial decisions in the summer transfer window and arguably the most important ones will be made in the goalkeeping department.

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy have shared the gloves for the last few seasons as five keepers have trained as part of the first-team squad this season with Marcus Bettinelli, Eddie Beach and Gabriel Slonina all joining Kepa and Mendy.

David Raya and Jordan Pickford have been outlined as targets but it now seems as though a decision has been made by Chelsea between the sticks.

Luis Enrique stance

However, that is where the club are, and now Boehly faces arguably his most important months at Chelsea, despite overseeing two transfer windows. Despite recent defeats, football.london understands, that Potter has support for now, but as the head coach himself has admitted, that support will not last forever.

One of the main candidates tipped to replace Potter is former Spain boss Luis Enrique. While other options such as Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane are waiting for a specific job, that same fact does not seem to apply to Enrique.
