Brazil beat Uruguay 2-0 at Montevideo as Arthur Melo and Richarlison strikes extend Selecao lead in FIFA World Cup qualifiers to 12 points.
Brazil have already gone unbeaten from their first three qualifying games after beating Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela to top the South American table with 9 points, and have added another victory to make it four-out-of-four for Tite’s side.

A superb Renan Lodi cross was firmly headed into the bottom corner by Richarlison and gave Brazil a 2-0 lead at the break. Today’s three points makes it 5 Brazilian wins, 5 draws and 1 victory for Uruguay in World Cup qualifying head-to-head.
Meanwhile, Uruguay were reduced to 10-man in the second half after Manchester United summer signing Edinson Cavani was shown the red card in huge VAR controversy.
He was adjudged to have deliberately trodden on the back of Richarlison’s ankle and was shown a red card.
