Bruno Fernandes stoppage time penalty salvage Manchester United from Tottenham defeat in Premier League restart

Tottenham Hotspur drew with Manchester United at the New Tottenham Stadium in Premier League restart. Jose Mourinho’s side welcomed the Reds Devils to London but Bruno Fernandes’ 81′ minutes strike salvage a vital away point for Manchester United.

With the game ending 1-1, United extend their unbeaten run to 12 games having already recorded 11 straight games without a defeat before the season was suspended in March.

Steven Bergwijn opened the score for Tottenham before the half-hour mark. United were in the process of gaining the upper hand, but they were leapfrogged.

Bergwijn picked up a Sissoko header, just inside the United half. He drove down the right, stepped inside, leaving Maguire for dust, and batters a shot through De Gea and into the right-hand side of the net.

Manchester United came into the game strongly and equalized through former Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes who cancelled Tottenham’s lead from the spot-kick, with just 9 minutes of regular time to go.
