Frank Lampard press conference: Lampard reveals how he convinced Timo Werner to join Chelsea

Chelsea have signed RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in £47.5million deal. The German International has already send out his message to Chelsea fans ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, after three months without competitive action, the Blues are preparing for our Premier League restart which sees us travel to the Midlands to take on Villa behind-closed-doors at 4.15pm on Sunday.

In his press conference ahead of Vila game, Lampard said Werner was sold on the project he is building at Chelsea in order to bridge the gap between his Blues side and EPL leaders Liverpool.

“I had good conversations with Timo personally,” Lampard said at a virtual press conference on Friday”, Lampard told reporters in his press conference.

“He understands our project and what we want to do as a club. We’re pleased he’s decided to come to us and look forward to him joining next season.”

Werner has been instrumental in Leipzig’s third place in Bundesliga. The Leipzig prospect who has signed five years at Stamford Bridge has found back of the net 25 times appearing as Leipzig’s leading scorer not only in the league but in all competitions combined.
