Tottenham lost 3-1 to Brentford in final Premier League home game

Tottenham’s last home game of the season ended with a horrible 3-1 defeat to Brentford.

Harry Kane opened the scoring in the first ten minutes with his 28th Premier League goal of the campaign on what could have been his final home game.

However, Bryan Mbuemo produced a magical second-half display to ensure the visitors completed a brilliant comeback that leaves Spurs’ Europa League hopes hanging by a thread.

After the game, Spurs boss Ryan Mason spoke to BT Sport and said “Goals change games.

“I thought in the first half, we should have had a couple more, but if you’re not ready to compete for 95 minutes, you will concede.

“I was happy with the first-half performance. We were very, very good. And in the second half, they were clinical and we just weren’t focused.”

Brentford forward and two-goal hero Bryan Mbeumo also said “It’s fantastic.

“In the first half, we were a bit sloppy, but in the second half, everybody stepped up and it was a fantastic result.

“We still have one chance and we are going to do everything we can.”

Tottenham have won only one of their last five Premier League games. They will face Leeds United next week Sunday.
