Bundesliga Match Report: Bayern Munich 5-0 Fortuna Düsseldorf, as it happened

Bayern Munich continue their hot form this season and unbeaten run to the return of the Bundesliga after beating Fortuna Düsseldorf 5-0 at Allianz Arena in Saturday evening.

Borussia Dortmund were the much talked about opponents to stop the Bavarians in Bundesliga resumption but having saw off Lucien Favre’s side at the Signal Iduna Park last Tuesday, Düsseldorf were a side much expected to fall into Bayern’s trap especially when the Bavarians were playing at home.

It took just 15’ minutes for Hans-Dieter Flick side to take the lead after Mathias Jorgensen scored an own goal when seemly clearing an effort towards goal but the center-back directed the ball into his empty net rather.

Benjamin Pavard extended Bayern’s lead heading home on 29’ minute before Robert Lewandowski stoppage time strike from a well calculated team move saw Bayern go up 3-0 before the end of first 45’ minutes.

Bayern took a brighter start in the second half when Lewandowski again tab in Serge Gnabry low ball across goal area just five minutes into the second half as the Polish striker sent his tally this season to 29 Bundesliga goals.

Alphonso Davies run through Düsseldorf defense with no one able to stop the Bayern left-back and planted a carpet shot into the net as Bayern ended the day with a 5-0 impressive victory and their fourth straight win after return of the Tier I football leagaue.
