Al Ahly planning to raid Mamelodi Sundowns for Uruguayan forward Gaston Sirino
According to reports in South Africa, Al Ahly are planning to sign Mamelodi Sundowns striker Gaston Sirino in a big money deal.
Ahly have enjoyed a smooth run in domestic and continental scene this season where the Egyptian outfits comfortably lead the Egyptian Premier League table with 16 points gab above Al Mokawloon in second place, and have attained semifinal football in this year’s CAF Champions League.

The same level of success cannot be guarantee next season especially now that star man Ramadan Sobhi would on paper return to Huddersfield Town as his two year loan deal secure on £800 000 from the English side (R18-million) expires at the end of season.
Finding the perfect replacement for Sobhi and adding few quality players however will still make Ahly one of the best clubs in Egypt and Africa in the subsequent season.
They have now identify Downs’ striker Gaston Sirino who could replace Ramadan Sobhi, with same level of expected output produced by the Huddersfield loanee.

Ahly boss Rene Weiler and club president Mahmoud El-Khatib are believed to admire the Uruguayan forward Sirino and have spoken about to Ahly officials, claimed by EuroSport Arabia.
The Swiss trainer was impressed with the performance of Downs forward when Ahly played the South African outfits in the quarter finals of CAF Champions League, and Sirino netted in the second leg that ended 1-1 in Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
KickOff.com claims Sirino is “one of several targets” for next season and Reds remain hopeful that an agreement can be reached with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 29-year-old is one of the PSL side’s most trust sources on the pitch netting 11 goals and registering seven assists in 32 games in all competitions before the season was suspended, and Ahly would have to come face-to-face with Pitso Mosimane’s resistance to let the player leave as he knee keeping the star for next season.
“Al-Ahly asked us verbally to include Sirino after the second-leg match between us,” Sondwons logistics manager Khaled Ali explained in an with Egyptian news channel On-Time Sports.
“I spoke to the coach of the team, Pitso Mosimane, but he informed me of his need for the player to compete for the CAF Champions League title next season.
“This is also the management’s decision, and the player has a three-year contract with the club. So the final decision is to keep the player.”
He has 22 goals in 90 games for Downs with 26 assists since joining the Brazilians from Bolivian outfit Bolivar La Paz in January 2018.
