“Salah told me that Liverpool wanted to sign me”- Al Ahly star Salah Mohsen reveals

Egyptian International who plays football for Al Ahly Salah Mohsen has revealed that Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah informed him about the club’s interest in his services.

Mohsen, 21, has emerged as one of Egypt’s most sought after talents and joined Ahly from ENPPI in January 2018 in a reported R32-million transfer.

However, since his explosive performance in the senior national team, career has stalled following sustained injuries.

Currently, on loan at domestic rivals Smouha, the technically gifted forward told On Sport that the Reds were monitoring his development.

“This is going to be the first time that I talk about this,” the attacker dubbed ‘the new Salah’ said, as per Kingfut.

“But once during a national team camp, Mohamed Salah asked me how much was left in my contract with Al Ahly and at the time I had just joined them.

“Salah then told me that Liverpool wanted to sign me and that they might talk to the Al Ahly board to see if a deal was possible.”

Mohsen added: “I swear it actually happened. I don’t know if he meant the first team or not but at the time I told him to try and get the deal done.

“Playing for Al Ahly is like playing abroad for most players in Egypt. I hope to one day play in the Premier League, a dream that’s not too farfetched.”

Mohsen has scored 15 goals and registered five assists in 56 games in the Egyptian Premier League since making his debut in the 2016/17 season as a teenager.
