Lautaro Martinez rejects €111million move to Manchester United amid move to Barcelona

Manchester United are reportedly rejected by Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in a €111milliom move to Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Inter Milan forward has been one of the best in Europe this season as has been sought after by Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United ahead of a summer move.

It is understood that Chelsea and Barcelona are in talks to complete a move for the striker. But Manchester United have acted swiftly to have completed a deal for the Argentine center-forward.

Only that Martinez has rejected a chance to join the Premier League giants according to reports from Spain. It has been claimed by Spanish outlet Sport that Manchester told Inter Milan that they would pay Martinez’s €111million buy-out-clause.

The Argentine however has resisted a move to Manchester United where the 22-year-old has told Inter officials his preferred move to Barcelona instead.

Barcelona are struggling to raise fund to sign the striker this summer and are reportedly to offer the San Siro giants six players in a bid to cut down the money they have to pay Inter Milan for Martinez’s signature.

The 22-year-old has been a hit for Inter Milan since crossing the carpet from Racing Club in Argentina in 2018. His he has eventually be noticed as the perfect replacement for countryman Diego Milito since the latter’s departure from Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri have struggled to replace Milito who bagged in 62 goals in 128 Seria A games, and won the UEFA Champions League in 2010 before he left the club in 2014.

Martinez has been a complementary striker to former Manchester United ace Romelu Lukaku who led Inter’s top scorer chat with 23 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions before the halt of the season.

Martinez meanwhile has found back of the net 16 times in 31 games across all competition this season.
