Aubameyang urged to stay at Arsenal by legend Ian Wright and Thiago Silva set to join

Former Gunners legend Ian Wright has urged Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay at Arsenal – with Brazil skipper Thiago Silva targeted to join him.

The Gabon striker has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan in recent times due to his running down contract which expires at the end of next season.

The Arsenal skipper and top scorer this season has claimed there hasn’t been discussions for new contract at Emirates Stadium- as this flues speculations that his departure is imminent.

Whether his imminent departure may be true or the other way round, Gunners’ legend Wright appears to be happy if the former Borussia Dortmund striker stays with Arsenal.

“If the season was still going and he continued scoring goals he’d be in a strong position.

“If he does see that contract out, are the same people going to come for him?

“Arsenal have probably got a deal on the table three, maybe four years for somebody that for me, we need to stay.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal are planning to lure PSG captain Thiago Silva and could beat London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs to the signing of the Brazilian.

The centre-back, 35, will be freed along with the French champions’ record scorer Edinson Cavani at the end of the prolonged campaign.

French hitman Odsonne Edouard is “flattered” to be linked with Arsenal – but claims he is focused on helping Celtic win a tenth straight Scotish title

And the Gunners, as well as Manchester City are said to be keen on Swedsh defensive midfielder, Armin Gigovic, 18.

He broke into second flight side Helsingborgs IF’s team at the start of the season.
