Manchester United to make a move for Saúl Niguez after scouting Atletico Madrid star 

Manchester United are eyeing a host of top talents including Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane, Kalidou Koulibaly and Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-savic, and Atletico Madrid star Saúl Ñíguez appears the latest player on Ole Gunnar Solskjær transfer targets list.

The Sun claim Manchester United sent scouts to watch the Spaniard on several occasions this season, and with the player impressing Old Traford bosses as per scouting reports, they are willing to pay £70million for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Saúl is understood not to decide about his future at Wanda Metropolitano, thus whether to leave or stay, but he is reportedly feels happy at Atletico Madrid.

Saúl joined Atletico Madrid youth side in 2007. Since then, his progression has been spectacular, and began training with the first team at 17 years, making his official debut in a UEFA Europa League game against Besiktas on March 8th, 2012.

The Atletico Madrid product has been tracked by Manchester United and Barcelona for the pst two seasons but things have tend difficult for the clubs following the latest renewal of player’s stay at the Spanish capital in 2017.

In July 2017, Saúl signed a new five year contract to dent Barca and United’s hopes of signing him where the midfielder is now contracted at Atletico Madrid until June 2026.

“Atlético de Madrid has reached an agreement with Saúl Ñíguez for the extension of his contract for five more seasons.”

“The 22 years old homegrown player has signed a new contract with our club, which now extends until June 30th, 2026.”

Saúl in return expressed his delight to pen a new deal and promised to give his best on the pitch to Atletico Madrid.

“I am very happy because at Atleti we are a family and there is no better place to be”.

“I will work my full potential on the field as always to pay back the trust that the club is giving to me. I’d like to thank all my teammates and the coaching staff for their help day by day so that I can be the player I am today.”

United are back in for the player, and are believed preparing to offer a salary increase of £85,000-a-week to around £200,000-a-week in a bid to lure the player from Madrid.
